Colour

Essentis masserias are identified by a particular colour palette.

The buildings themselves are built of stone in shades of golden cream and grey, depending on whether pietra leccese or carparo stone is used.

Paintwork is a natural palette of light grey, blue and sage green to reflect the landscape.

The main interior walls of the building are usually left in natural tones. Batherooms often have walls tinted with natural pigments such as yellow oxide.

Outside, anthracite grey is used for the metal structures as a reminder of the wrought ironwork of years gone by.
