Salento is known as “the gateway to the east” and has always been a melting pot of different cultures and traditions. So it’s the perfect choice of location for a festival totally dedicated to indie films.
Cinema is a highly powerful communication channel which can draw diverse cultures and communities together. The mission of the 11th edition of La Grande Festa del Cinema Independente Internazionale is to give those involved in national and international movie productions a place to exchange views and express ideas.
In recent years the festival week has been followed by a world tour, taking SIFF to international destinations like Zurich, London, Hong Kong, Moscow and Saint Petersburg. There is also a “Best of the Fest” event.
