The tango is much loved the world over and from the 17 January, dance fans in Lecce, Salento can enjoy a whole event dedicated to this iconic dance. The second edition of “Inverno Porteno”, is entitled “L’ALTRA META’ DEL TANGO”, best translated as “the other half of the tango”.Historically, the tango has served not only as a dance but also as a bridge between cultures, overcoming linguistic, cultural and social barriers and building new communities. And it is to the fusion of two of these genres – the Argentine tango and the Yiddish Klezmer music of Eastern Europe – that Inverno Porteno dedicates its winter 2014 edition.
