World famous London store Selfridges has a new line of olive oil on sale from the end of June this year. The green-gold extra virgin oil, stone pressed in traditional fashion, has been made from some very special olives indeed.
The harvest is from the ancient olive trees growing on the land being sold by Dream Homes in Puglia as part of their masseria projects. Each masseria is hand built by local craftsmen and sits in its own five-acre (two hectare) olive grove. The olives used in the exquisite Selfridges extra virgin oil come from the massive, centuries-old trees in these groves.
When buying a masseria from Dream Homes you also buy your own huge supply of olive oil! We can arrange for a local farmer to tend the groves, harvest your olives for you and make the oil, in return for a share of the produce. On the other hand you may decide you’d like to have a go yourself. Once you have subtracted the oil you would like to keep for yourself, your family and friends, you can sell off the remainder to the local cooperative. They are keen to buy as olive oil from Puglia is exported all over the world and is considered the finest in Italy.
The olive oil being sold in Selfridges is produced by Alea on behalf of the Essentis Properties Group. Two versions: Deciso (0.75litres)and Perfetto Tre (three different oils totalling 0.75 litres) and are on sale for £19.95 and £34.95 respectively.
